Biological Augmentation

All life in your pond or lake, both animal and plant constantly compete for the nutrients in the water and in the bottom organic sediments, commonly called muck. Every year of your lakes' life that goes by the nutrients increase. An overabundance nitrates and phosphates can cause excessive vegetation problems, poor water clarity and quality, algae blooms, foul odors, stunting of fish populations and accumulations of organic sediments.

While proper use of aquatic herbicides and algaecides have a place in pond and lake management, they only treat the symptoms and give temporary control.
